The consequence of procrastination

What is the main consequence of procrastination?

It pushes you away from your desires.

Let’s dive a bit deeper:

The time that you put between the thing that you desire and yourself, it is a way of not facing your desire.

It is, of course, a symptom that unfortunately happens way too often. It happens before certain situations where there is uncertainty involved, some risks to take, etc. that generate fear of what is going to happen.

Then, in order to avoid that risk, we procrastinate: ‘I’ll do it later, I’ll do it tomorrow, maybe at another time’ etc. We believe this is the way to avoid the void, that empty space in which we’ll have to face our desire.

So, what do we do?

Even though it’s scary it would be nice to turn to look inside of us, and ask ourselves: what do I want? What do I desire?

And then, start to see how many times you’ve procrastinated all of those things, and think this is just a mechanism that prevents you from not being in charge of your desires.

You have to work on this.

Let me know how you feel about it.
